Alexie's collection of poems and stories is not recommended for general use in school and/or classroom libraries due to content and language. However some of the poetry and short stories may be suitable for high school students with sufficient educator support regarding content and language used. The collection of poetry and stories are thought provoking, provocative and wildly colourful. Alexie provides vivid insight into the perspectives of Native Americans in my situations such as powwows, family relations, stereotypes and school.
