As the ideal candidate, you will work independently to maintain the school library and work collaboratively with Teachers to support programming.


  • you are a people person who enjoys actively supporting literacy
  • you are technologically savvy and enjoy keeping your skills fresh
  • curious by nature, you love to work with people to find answers and support learning
  • you are patient and caring with children
  • you inspire a love of reading


  • you have a recognized diploma in Library and Information Technology
  • you have a minimum of one year related experience preferably in a school environment
  • you have excellent communication and collaboration skills


The Library Technician will:

  • maintain the library collection for both students and teacher resources
  • coordinate book fairs and or guest presenters
  • select, purchase and organize new resources
  • provide one-on-one and small group support to students


  • competitive salary ($19.10 - $20.66 per hour)
  • a comprehensive benefits package including extended health care, dental, vision and extended disability for staff who receive long terms assignments beyond 25 days in duration or permanent employment
  • 10-month employment – summers off
  • personal and professional growth opportunities


  • hourly, on-call work  - up to 7 hours per day, Monday – Friday
  • long term part-time and full-time
  • eligibility to apply for permanent, advertised positions
